Q: What is a Keepsake?

A Keepsake is a small item kept in memory of a person or moment in time. If it holds a special place in your heart, it's a Keepsake that I can put in jewelry. Some Keepsakes I have made jewelry out of are: breastmilk, cremation ash of humans and animals, wedding/funeral flowers, wedding dress, loved ones clothing, baby clothing, hospital bracelets, hair, fur, umbilical cord, guitar pick, eyeglass lenses, soldiers uniform, and the list goes on! NEVER send the last bit of your Keepsake/s.

Q: Can I change the details of my order after I've already paid? 

A: Certain details of your order can be changed but are not guaranteed after your order is placed. It's very important to be specific in your order as far as shimmers and flecks and also designs. Any shimmers and flecks added after an order is placed is not always guaranteed.

 

Q: How much milk do you need?

A: I can usually make a couple pieces with .5 an oz. For low supply mamas I can work with less if needed. Simply double bag the thawed breastmilk in milk storage bags with your name and order number on both bags and send in a padded envelope.

NEVER send the last bit of your Keepsakes. Extra milk will not be sent back.

Q: Can you use old milk?

A: Yes! I've successfully preserved breastmilk that was frozen for 26 years! No matter how many years old, as long as it's not moldy, I can work with it! My preservation process kills all bacteria and mold from growing over time!

 

Q: I purchased a ring, can I change the size?

A: You have 24hrs from the time you place your order to make any size changes. Simply email me at help@mamabearmilk.com and I will be happy to change it for you.

Q: I placed an order. Now what?

A: You will receive an email confirmation shortly after checkout with detailed mailing instructions and your order number. It is sent immediately after checkout, if you do not see it check your spam folder. You will receive an email with a picture of your keepsake/s when I receive them in the mail.

Q: How many Keepsakes can go in one piece?

A: As many as you want!! It may be small quantities of each Keepsake, but you know what's in there and that's all that matters!

Q: How much cremains do you need?

A: One teaspoon will be plenty, and I will send back any leftovers that I have left. Simply double bag the ashes in a ziplock baggy with your name and order number on both bags and send in a padded envelope.

Q: How many flower petals should I send?

A: One to two petals of each color will be fine. Simply double bag the Petals in a ziplock baggy with your name and order number on both bags and send in a padded envelope.

I do send back any extras that I may have.

Q: I'm not ready to send in flowers but plan to place an order in the future. What can i do for the flowers to keep their color?

If you plan to send them within a week or two: Place the flowers (with stems) in a pitcher of water and place in the refrigerator. 

If you plan on sending them two weeks or after: Hang them upside down, tied from their stems, in a cool dark closet. This will help keep a lot of their color as they dry.

NEVER place petals or flowers in a bag for long periods of time as they can mold and become unusable.

Q: How much clothing do you need if that is my Keepsake?

A: A one inch square will be plenty. You could even cut some of the inside seams if you don't want to cosmetically change the look of the shirt. Simply double bag the clothing in a ziplock baggy with your name and order number on both bags and send in a padded envelope. I do send back any extras that I may have.

 

Q: How much hair do you need?

A: You'd be surprised with what I could do with one single strand, but just to be safe, I ask you send in 5-10 strands depending on the length. I can work with as little as your comfortable sending. Simply fold hair into aluminum foil and double bag in a ziplock baggy with your name and order number on both bags and send in a padded envelope. I do send back any extras I may have.

Q: What if I'm sending multiple Keepsakes?

A: Simply bag each keepsake SEPARATELY in their own bags with your name and order number on ALL bags and send in one padded envelope.

Q: What if I'm local and don't want to ship my Keepsakes?

No problem! Simply choose drop off/pickup at checkout and you will get info in an email with an address in White House TN to drop off your keepsakes at.
